PUC Advises Public of Traffic Delays at Second Line and Peoples Road

Sault Ste. Marie, ON (March 12, 2026) — PUC Services Inc. is advising motorists and residents of a partial road closure at the intersection of Second Line and Peoples Road following a motor vehicle collision earlier this morning. We encourage motorists and pedestrians to avoid the area if possible and expect delays while work is underway.

The incident, which occurred at approximately 7:00 a.m., damaged a utility pole at the intersection. PUC crews are on-site, and repairs are underway to replace the pole. Traffic is expected to be impacted throughout the day and into the evening as our crews complete the repairs. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes and allow extra travel time.

No power outages are anticipated at this time.

While crews complete the repair:

• Second Line going east-west is reduced to one lane, and
• The right-turn lane from Second Line onto Peoples Road (northbound) is closed.
