PUC’s Golf Tournament Raises $30,000 for CMHA
Sault Ste. Marie, ON (July 28th, 2025)– For the second consecutive year, PUC’s Charity Golf Tournament brought together 144 golfers and 20 dedicated volunteers to support mental health in our community. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of participants and sponsors, the sold-out event raised $30,000 for the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) of Algoma.
Held in memory of our former Powerline Technician Jeff Gillson, the tournament featured 36 teams competing in a scramble format at Crimson Ridge Golf Course. The day included on-course games, locally made snacks and beverages, and a post-tournament dinner—all made possible through the support of local sponsors.
“This tournament is more than a day of golf—it’s a reflection of the generosity and community spirit that defines PUC,” said Rob Brewer, President & CEO of PUC Services Inc. “Raising $30,000 for CMHA Algoma in honour of Jeff Gillson speaks volumes about the people who came together to make this possible. I’m incredibly proud of our employees, volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who supported this meaningful cause.”
PUC extends its sincere thanks to all participants, sponsors, and volunteers who made the 2nd Annual Charity Golf Tournament a success. In just two years, PUC’s golf tournament has raised $45,924.25. Funds raised will support mental health initiatives in the Algoma region—an issue that continues to impact families, workplaces, and communities.
