Save More This Spring: PUC Highlights Rebates for Home Energy Upgrades

Sault Ste. Marie, ON (April 2, 2026) — PUC Services Inc. is encouraging homeowners to take advantage of the Home Renovation Savings program and access rebates on energy-efficient upgrades this spring. With milder weather on the way, it’s an ideal time to tackle issues like drafts, uneven temperatures, or overworked heating systems, making upgrades easier to plan and more cost-effective to complete.

Homeowners now have greater flexibility, with the option to complete single upgrades or bundle multiple improvements for more savings. These upgrades not only unlock valuable rebates but also help reduce energy use and lower long-term home operating costs.

Eligible Upgrades Include:

• Heat pumps and water heaters
• Insulation improvements
• Windows and doors
• Smart thermostats
• Solar panels and battery storage
• Select energy-efficient appliances

Who Can Apply

The program is open to eligible Ontario homeowners living in:

• Detached and semi-detached homes
• Townhomes and row houses
• Mobile homes on permanent foundations

The Home Renovation Savings program is supported by PUC and available through Ontario’s Save on Energy program, in partnership with Enbridge Gas.

Rebates range from modest incentives to several thousand dollars, depending on the project. A home energy assessment is required for bundled upgrades, and all rebates are issued once the work is completed. Some upgrades must be completed by a program-qualified contractor.
